Nokia Asha 501 Specifications and Features
As a low-cost phone, Nokia Asha 501 comes with a pretty attractive design. It has round corners and neon-bright colored back cover that makes it look fresh. It’s small and light so it will slip easily into your pocket. The 3.0” TFT capacitive touchscreen is quite responsive. It even supports Mulitouch up to 2 fingers. Accelerometer and Proximity sensor are also good additions for the display. With a low resolution of 240 x 320 pixels (133 ppi pixel density) you won’t find something extraordinary on the screen. Visibility is not too good under direct sunlight. You may find it hard to read the text.
The Asha 501 runs on Nokia Asha 1.0 operating system with the support of 64 MB RAM. It’s not a fast phone, but it’s not slow either. It has decent speed to launch various apps. To accommodate your data and files, the phone provides 128 MB built-in memory and a pre-installed 4 GB memory card. You can still expand the memory card capacity up to 32 GB. A variety of connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g; Bluetooth v3.0 with EDR; and microUSB v2.0 are also available in this device.
A modest 3.15 MP camera is attached on the rear side of the phone. It has 3x digital zoom, white balance settings, a self-timer, and four color tone modes (regular, greyscale, sepia, and negative). You can also use it to record QVGA 320×240 video at 15 frames per second. The quality of the photo is acceptable, though it’s a bit grainy. You may find it hard to use in low-light condition due to the lack of flash.
