Lenovo IdeaPad S205 Specifications and Features Overview

Lenovo IdeaPad S205 is armored with 1.6-GHz AMD Fusion E350 APU, ATI Mobility Radeon 6310 graphics, 4GB of RAM and 500GB / 5,400rpm hard drive. While the 11.6” display has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels with a chiclet-style layout.keyboard, a small touchpad and small speaker grilles under the front lip. The notebook also equipped with 1.3-MP webcam above the display; Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n; headphone and mic jacks; HDMI and three USB ports; 6-in-1 memory card reader; VGA connector, and power jack.

Reset and Format Lenovo IdeaPad S205 to Restore Factory Default Settings

There are two ways you can reset and format your Lenovo IdeaPad S205 to restore the factory default settings, via OneKey Rescue System and using a Recovery Discs.

Reset and Format Lenovo IdeaPad S205 using OneKey Rescue System 

The IdeaPad S205 computers come with pre-installed OneKey Rescue System. In order to save application files and the initial backed up files of the system, the hard disk in a Lenovo computer includes a hidden partition when it is shipped. If you need to restore the system to the point of your first boot up, just enter Lenovo OneKey Rescue System and run Restore to factory default as below instructions:

  • Under shutdown state, press the OneKey Rescue Button (see picture) to log in OneKey Rescue System, which includes “OneKey Antivirus”, “OneKey Recovery” and “System Setup”. Lenovo IdeaPad S205 OneKey Rescue System Button
  • Click “OneKey Recovery”,  there are two tasks for your selection:
    1. "Restore from initial backup", select it to restore system partition(Drive C) to the initial status. This will delete all the new data on the system partition (C drive), which is not recoverable. Make sure to back up your critical data before you perform this action.
    2. "Restore from user’s backup", this option allows you to select a system-backup image file to use to restore your system partition (Drive C). 

Reset and Format Lenovo IdeaPad S205 using OneKey Rescue System 

When you replace a hard disk drive in your computer, you are unable to use the pre-installed Lenovo OneKey Recovery and OneKey Rescue. However, you can use the recovery discs that store your backed up data to restore your new hard drive to a previous backup status. Please follow the prompt to insert the backup discs to complete the whole recovery process. The recovery process might take up to 2 hours. You can create recovery discs by burning the backup image to a CD/DVD as recovery discs.
